Risers
Risers are basically extensions of your septic tank lids which bring them up to ground level, making them much more accessible. We have a variety of riser options, designed to work with different septic lids.
In order to find the right risers for your tank, there’s a few things we need to know:
Are the lids on your tank plastic or concrete?
Are they round, square, or rectangular?
What are the dimensions of the lids?
Once we have this information, we’ll be able to discuss your options.
If you have a 19 ½” x 19 ½” concrete lid and the top of your tank is flat, you typically have two options. You can purchase our concrete “picture frames,” which come in 2” and 4” increments and are stackable. The lid is then replaced with a 24” x 24” reinforced patio slab. Alternatively, you could choose to switch to Polylok (plastic), and this would require you to use tapcons to attach a square plastic base to your tank. After the Polylok adapter is in place, you can add risers. These come in 2”, 6” and 12” heights and allow you to mix and match to get as close as possible to the exact height you need. The lid would then be a 24” diameter round Polylok lid which is attached with screws.
If you have a round concrete lid which is 24” on the inside, you can purchase our Wyevale adapter ring. This consists of a concrete base which looks the same as the existing lid, but has a shallow plastic 24” diameter ring encased in the concrete, allowing you to convert from concrete to Polylok. With this adapter, you can then just add the same Polylok risers as above. You also have the option of choosing to stick with concrete for risers, which are available in 6”, 12”, 18”, and 30” heights.
If you already have Polylok lids on your tank, you’re in luck! This is the easiest one to add risers to. You can choose from 2”. 6”, or 12” Polylok risers and can just continue to use your existing lids.
If you have a lid which doesn’t sound like any of the above, that’s OK! We have a universal riser, which is a 30” x 36” concrete slab with a round 24” Polylok riser cast into it. As long as your lid opening is smaller than those dimensions and the top of your tank is flat., this option will work for you, allowing you to switch over to Polylok and use their risers to come up to ground level.
If you have something different than all of those, you’re still not stuck. Chances are we still might have an option or two that will work. Just ask!
